So It Finally Looks Like DICE Actually Got Around To Releasing Some 360 Footage Of Battlefield 3…

leave a comment »

And to the surprise of anybody who doesn’t have a shrunken frontal lobe, the game looks to be running brilliantly on the console; dispelling the fears that the game wasn’t shown because it was looking shit on Microsoft’s aging lump of plastic.

Take a look for yourselves at the link at the bottom of the page.

Oh and before the PC/PS3 trolls come bursting into the comments thread flapping their insignificant groin-growths about know this; yes, the PC will have the best version of the game – we have known this since the day it was fucking announced and yes, the PS3 version will be an equally serviceable port too, as is the 360 version.

Now, can we all agree that regardless of which cock you wave, you are in for a superlative, online multiplayer first person shooter experience come October 28th?

Yes?

Lovely.

Tokyo Game Show 2011: Gorgeous Studio Ghibli RPG, Ni-No-Kuni, Confirmed For US Release In 2012

leave a comment »

In perhaps the best piece of news to come out the Tokyo Game Show this year, Japanese RPG developer supremos Level-5, have confirmed that the immeasureably gorgeous and pant-floodingly amazing Ni-No-Kuni will in fact get a Western release in 2012.

Developed for the PS3 and Nintendo DS in tandem with Japanese anime powerhouse Studio Ghibli, the title is a breathtaking fusion of the JRPG genre and retina-searingly beautiful, hand-drawn Studio Ghibli art.

It will be however, only the PS3 version that at this time receives a localisation for the West.

Hopefully they’ll keep the Japanese language track too.

In case you don’t know anything about this landmark title and are interested in games JRPG’s that are compelling to play, gorgeous to look at and quite clearly do not fall into ‘this is shit’ bracket, please look at the trailer below:

Portal Goes Free On Steam Until Tuesday

leave a comment »

Right, if you’re a PC owner this article about Portal going free on Steam shouldn’t bother you.

‘Why’ you ask? Why that’s simple…

You should already fucking have it.

If, however, you find yourself to be an uneducated dreg, who has only now, managed to pull yourself away from the playground delights of Call of Duty then you have until Tuesday, to set your life back on the right track.

You know it makes sense.

Tokyo Game Show 2011: Dead Or Alive 5 Confirmed For 2012 Release On 360 & PS3

leave a comment »

Lovers of martial arts, ninjas and women with abnormally large chest tumour monsters attached to them rejoice! Team Ninja has confirmed that Dead or Alive 5 will be released next year on the 360 and PS3.

Not since January 2006 has a new core instalment of the Dead or Alive fighting franchise been seen on home consoles.

At this year’s Tokyo Game Show however, Team Ninja let us know that next year we’ll see the Dead or Alive 5 on the 360 and PS3; marking some nearly seven years since the last title in the infamous fighting franchise made it’s bow on the home consoles.

Details are predictably sparse, and those who got to see were politely informed not film what they were watching or GTFO, but the teaser trailer build which appeared to be on display was pre-alpha and as such represented very early code.

In the teaser, Ninja Gaiden star Hayabusa was seen ready to engage in combat with fellow Shinobi Hayate on top of a highly lit urban district and that was pretty much it.

Team Ninja head Yosuke Hayashi said that the game wasn’t just a ‘fighting game’, it’s now ‘fighting entertainment’.

Fighting entertainment. What bollocks.

Anyhoo, take a look at the trailer below:

Tokyo Game Show 2011: Ninja Gaiden Sigma Announced For PS Vita

leave a comment »

Adding another feather to the cap of what is already a strong line up of software for Sony’s next generation handheld, is the confirmation from Tecmo that Ninja Gaiden Sigma will arrive on the machine sometime next year.

Details are practically non-existent at this point as to whether the game is a port of an older Ninja Gaiden title or a conversion of the forthcoming Ninja Gaiden 3, but my money (and my hopes) are on the latter.

More as this one develops.

The Street Fighter X Tekken ‘Pandora’ trailer, introduces a whole bunch of new characters with Heihachi, Kuma, Michelle Chang and Lili making their debut for team Tekken, meanwhile, Rolento, Ibuki and Zangief make their bow representing team Street Fighter.

In addition to this, there is also a detailed online training mode called Briefing and last but not least Pandora, in which you can sacrifice your partner for a huge power boost to destroy your enemies.

Tokyo Game Show 2011: Capcom Announces Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 For PS Vita Launch On Day One

leave a comment »

Capcom today confirmed at Sony’s TGS Press conference that Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 is to be a Vita launch title.

The updated version of the newest superhero crossover smashup will boast worldwide online play, the same smooth 60FPS visuals as the 360/PS3 versions and the implementation of touch-controls; with specifics on this yet to be revealed.

The announcement of UMvC3 for the handheld comes hot off the heels of a Capcom announcement at E3, which confirmed that a conversion of Street Fighter X Tekken was in the pipeline for the machine too.

Seems like the PS Vita is looking like the go-to platform for a decent handheld scrap.

Tokyo Game Show 2011: Konami Confirms MGS and Zone of the Enders HD Collections For Vita In 2012

leave a comment »

The previously announced Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders HD collections that were announced for the 360 and PS3 platforms, will release on the PS Vita in 2012 Konami has revealed.

The Zone of the Enders HD collection boasts the two PS2-era titles in HD-O-Vision(tm) whereas the Metal Gear Solid HD collection consists of Metal Gear Solid 2 Substance, Metal Ger Solid 3 Subsistence and PSP title, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker; all of which are given a nice lick of HD paint to bring them bang up to date.

Both collections will launch in 2012 for the powerful new Sony handheld.

Is it me, or does the PS Vita look like a more and more solid platform everyday? It’s almost as if they’re going out of their way to embarrass Nintedo, which after the debacle that was the 3DS launch, wouldn’t be that hard to be honest.

leave a comment »

In a megaton piece of news that falls quite firmly under the ‘holy fuck’ category, Square-Enix have today confirmed that Final Fantasy X will be updated in super-shiny HD for the PS3 and PS Vita platforms.

No date or media was given, but the update is supposedly taking place to honour the ten year anniversary of the game which released all those many years ago, back in 2001 for the PS2.
