New Elder Scrolls Title Suggested for 2010 Release
Going on from the Fallout (yeah, it’s a shoddy pun, cry me a river) created by Bethesda’s latest massive RPG romp, news comes to my ears that Bethesda’s publishing exec, Paul Oughton, has alluded to a fifth title in the popular RPG series due in 2010.
Well, there goes 1600 hours of social time out the window.
In addition to this, he has ruled out any Bethesda RPG’s appearing on the Wii platform, citing the ‘saturation’ of the market, and although not disclosed, the technical complexities of their titles would be an issue also.
Taken from 1up.com, here are the quotes from Mr Oughton:
“At the moment we’ve got Fallout 3 for this year and potentially there’s a new Elder Scrolls title in 2010,”
“At the moment we’re not that interested in the Wii, we’re going to stick to PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.”
“Nintendo brought new products in with vast amounts of marketing money to launch these into the minds of the consumer and made a market for them. Every other publisher then very quickly developed DS and Wii products and we’re getting to saturation now.”
Roll on 2010.
