GTA IV DLC finally gets some details and a date
The 360 exclusive DLC for GTA IV that got ol’ Peter Moore in such an excitable mood back in the day, has at last been unveiled.
‘Lost and Damned’ intends to shift the focus away from the Eastern European Niko Bellic, the main star of GTA IV to Johnny Klebitz, who belongs to the ‘Lost’ biker gang of Alderney.
While additional plot details are thin on the ground, Niko is due to make a cameo appearance and the exra content seems to take the title in a gritter direction. Besides a new plot and missions to enjoy, gamers will also find that a whole new soundtrack is being scored, adding more music to the in-game radio stations.
Rockstar also revealed that ‘Lost and Damned’ is merely the first of two exclusive content packs, with no detals as of yet announced on the second.
While we know the date of release for ‘Lost and Damned’ – Feburary 17th 2009, there is no price point set yet. Given the sheer amount of content that is being added in here (it’s essentially an expansion pack), I doubt it will be cheap.
Stay tuned.
MS have got to be stinging a bit from this news…FEB’09 at the earliest now then? Christ was it really worth $50 million? I think not… Strong rumours of some sort of liberty city zombie infection style mod will be included with this expansion pack apparently, not sure if that will ever surface as fact or not however.

Looking at the industry landscape as it is now, I truly don’t think that DLC for a title that will be 10-months old by the time it arrives matters a whole lot. And worth $50 million? Certainly not. MS missed the window of opportunity by not putting the pressure on R* to get the content done in time for a pack in deal with 360 hardware.
R* must have been(and likely still is) laughing all the way to the bank on that one. The unfortunate reflection of this is what we all know of course, that MS is less interested in buying exclusive DLC then it is in buying headlines.
