I’d love to be able to comment on how good this game may (or indeed may not) be. I’d love too to say what value for money 1200pts for this represents, what a quality version of battlefield 1942 scaled down and perfectly realised for a console this game is…sadly i can’t do either of those things.
Since having this as soon as it came on the marketplace I’ve manged to get in precisely no games at all. The servers are overloaded and the squad system utterly broken. Problems, EA and Dice had with Bad company incidentally and something they appear to have learnt absolutely nothing from…

Ultimately we need to have a reality check here. I believe they have learnt from the Bad Company experience and the reason why they struggled as we all know is simply due to lack of server support.
I had those exact same issues and granted, they should have perhaps foresaw just how popular the title would be; this in itself demonstrating their infrastructural suckiness. That said though, this is an XBLA/PSN title and given the relatively low level of exposure that those games get in the mainstream (which is very little; with only Castle Crashers recently breaking the 1m barrier) DICE can be partially forgiven for thinking that they wouldn’t be able to lure people away from CoD:WaW and it’s ilk.
However, after pretty much fixing the server overload within TWO days of the title’s launch (I got in a 3 hour session last night with zero lag) seems pretty reasonable to me and ostensibly MUCH improved over the week(s) long issues that BC had.
That shows definite improvement to me and they are still adding servers all the time. So sure, the situation is still far from ideal with gamers not being able to play on day one, but it’s far better effort than the clusterfuck that was BC.
Also, broken squad system? That’s a bit harsh; seemed to work fine to me.
