EA Financials Reveal The Good Stuff

Last night, EA had a blowout of information regarding their forthcoming software slate that is due to arrive in the next 12-18 months.

The info blowout occurred during their financial outlook predictions, so while there are a fair few announcements, there isn’t much in the way of additional detail to many of them.

Here is what they announced:

– Realtime Worlds MMO APB is due to arrive between ‘July and September’ this year and is joined by EA’s Medal Of Honor reboot in the same period.

– The multiformat urban set sequel to Crytek’s successful PC shooter Crysis is due for release in Q4 this year. Crysis 2 is expected to be on sale on PC, 360 and PS3 between October and December this year.

– The Criterion developed Need For Speed title is due out this year between October and December with another Need For Speed title (developer unknown) due in the first three months of 2011. Two NFS titles being released within three months of each other suggests that the Criterion developed title will be 360, PC and PS3 only with the 2011 title being a spin-off or alternative NFS title for the Wii, NDS and PSP formats.

– Dead Space 2 is due for release between January and March 2011. Interestingly enough PS3, 360 and PSP(!) formats are listed as target platforms, but a PC release is nowhere to be found.

– ‘Dragon Age Title TBA’, which many folks are assuming is a Dragon Age sequel, is due in the same time frame of January to March 2011. Target platforms include 360, PS3, PC as well as ‘handheld versions’. Will be interesting to see just what they are doing here, as it seems too soon to release an entirely new Dragon Age title. Evidence however points toward that being the case, as Bioware previously made mention to Dragon Age 2 having ‘super-hot’ graphics.

– ‘Shooter From Epic TBA’, is also due to land in that same period of January to March 2010. This title is widely thought to the be rumoured ‘Bulletstorm’ title that has been in development at the People Can Fly studio.

– In what will surely rake in the Christmas greens, EA also confirmed that Sims 3 will see a release on all major consoles and handheld systems this holiday season.

– ‘Downloadable Shooter TBA’ is due in that now densely packed release window of Q1 2011. No details are known about the title.

– EA Sports Active will see releases on ‘other’ platforms this Christmas. You don’t have to be a genius to see that the other platforms in question are the PS3’s ARC and 360’s Project Natal; especially given the publisher’s recent enthusiasm regarding those motion control systems.

There will be more on these announcements as they respectively develop.
