EA Financials Reveal The Good Stuff
Last night, EA had a blowout of information regarding their forthcoming software slate that is due to arrive in the next 12-18 months.
The info blowout occurred during their financial outlook predictions, so while there are a fair few announcements, there isn’t much in the way of additional detail to many of them.
Here is what they announced:
– Realtime Worlds MMO APB is due to arrive between ‘July and September’ this year and is joined by EA’s Medal Of Honor reboot in the same period.
– The multiformat urban set sequel to Crytek’s successful PC shooter Crysis is due for release in Q4 this year. Crysis 2 is expected to be on sale on PC, 360 and PS3 between October and December this year.
– The Criterion developed Need For Speed title is due out this year between October and December with another Need For Speed title (developer unknown) due in the first three months of 2011. Two NFS titles being released within three months of each other suggests that the Criterion developed title will be 360, PC and PS3 only with the 2011 title being a spin-off or alternative NFS title for the Wii, NDS and PSP formats.
– Dead Space 2 is due for release between January and March 2011. Interestingly enough PS3, 360 and PSP(!) formats are listed as target platforms, but a PC release is nowhere to be found.
– ‘Dragon Age Title TBA’, which many folks are assuming is a Dragon Age sequel, is due in the same time frame of January to March 2011. Target platforms include 360, PS3, PC as well as ‘handheld versions’. Will be interesting to see just what they are doing here, as it seems too soon to release an entirely new Dragon Age title. Evidence however points toward that being the case, as Bioware previously made mention to Dragon Age 2 having ‘super-hot’ graphics.
– ‘Shooter From Epic TBA’, is also due to land in that same period of January to March 2010. This title is widely thought to the be rumoured ‘Bulletstorm’ title that has been in development at the People Can Fly studio.
– In what will surely rake in the Christmas greens, EA also confirmed that Sims 3 will see a release on all major consoles and handheld systems this holiday season.
– ‘Downloadable Shooter TBA’ is due in that now densely packed release window of Q1 2011. No details are known about the title.
– EA Sports Active will see releases on ‘other’ platforms this Christmas. You don’t have to be a genius to see that the other platforms in question are the PS3’s ARC and 360’s Project Natal; especially given the publisher’s recent enthusiasm regarding those motion control systems.
There will be more on these announcements as they respectively develop.
Ubisoft Announces Ghost Recon: Future Soldier For Release In December 2010
A few minutes ago, Ubisoft and developers Red Storm have announced the long-rumoured (and trademarked) Ghost Recon follow up, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
The title will release this Christmas for 360 and PS3 platforms, with a PC date to be announced in the near future.
It was said that buyers of 360 exclusive Spinter Cell: Conviction, can take part in the multiplayer beta which starts in the Summer.
Hoo-rah.
Look out tomorrow morning for the debut teaser trailer.
Activision Confirms Lego Star Wars III For Release On All Major Platforms This Autumn
With the Star Wars franchise still proving to be popular, and having new legs in the form of the fairly decent clone wars TV show, it should come as little surprise that Lego developer Travellers Tales has announced Lego Star Wars III for release this Autumn on pretty much every current platform.
Given the newfound popularity that thirty plus year franchise has now found with the younglings in the form of the aforementioned Clone Wars TV show, it makes sense therefore that Lego Star Wars III is set during the first season of the Clone Wars TV show.
I smell milk. And its off.

Miyamoto Working On New WiiMotionPlus Game
VG247.com is reporting that Shigeru Miyamoto is hard at work on a new title for the Wii that utilises WiiMotionPlus.
It’s nothing to do with the upcoming WiiMotionPlus focused Legend Of Zelda title for the Wii, but is instead something completely different.
The identity of the title will likely not be confirmed until E3, but it could be Pikmin 3; a title that is known to be in development as early as E3 2008.
Hopefully we’ll get something original and cool and not something that tells us how bad our weight/posture/cardio/diet/heart is.
Fallout: New Vegas Teaser Trailer Released; Bethesda Confirms Autumn 2010 Release
Bethesda Softworks have released a teaser trailer for their somewhat mysterious upcoming Fallout title; Fallout: New Vegas.
Whilst no in-game footage is shown in the trailer for the Obsidian developed title, the teaser did bear a fair bit of a resemblance to the original teaser that was released for Fallout 3. The camera started panning back from a old sixties style T.V show and back across a landscape, showing a mysterious character who turns and faces the camera briefly before the title appears and fades out.
Not exactly an informing teaser, but with Bethesda today confirming a 2010 release, it shouldn’t be long until we get something a little more… substantial.
