E3 2010: Crysis 2 To Feature 3D On 360, PS3 & PC. Will Arrive This Autumn

with 4 comments

The 360 version of Crysis 2 was demonstrated to the crowd at EA’s media briefing and whilst very impressive to look at, didn’t appear to offer much in the way of the ‘multiple choices’ and sandbox stylings that Crytek were keen to emphasise.

Still Crysis 2 was quite a spectacle to watch, with the game looking every bit the epic shooter that has been promised, with huge amounts of destructable scenery, explosions, firefights and some of the best texturing yet seen on next-gen consoles. It really was a treat for the eyes.

Speaking of eyes, Crytek also confirmed that Crysis 2 will boast stereoscopic 3D on all three platforms when it launches this Autumn on PS3, PC and 360.

The Crysis 2 demonstration can be seen below. Make sure your sat leaning on a pillow so that your jaw doesn’t strike anything hard when it hits the floor:

  1. Absoutly superb coverage of this years e3 so far Jp. Some well considered commentary and the simply effortless links to YouTube videos so I can find the stuff I want to see. Makes browsing for essential e3 stuff easy on my iPad and iPhone. Thanks again mate and looking forward to your coverage of Sony and nintendo’s efforts later today.
Must admit, I found myself totally uninspired by microsofts damp squid of a conference. It was all so safe and cynical, not really for it’s core audience at all. A most boring and un-exciting show all round by them. With the exception of a new crytek game and some nice gears 3 footage I found myself distinctly uninterested for the most part.
Oh, one thing you might like to look at is Rayman origins, a gorgeous looking 2d download title from ubisoft in full 1080p there’s YouTube links floating about so take a look.

  2. Thanks my friend, and many thanks for the Rayman link – i’m doing the Ubisoft stuff next.
I thought for a second I saw you say that you had an iPhone *and* an iPad, but then I rubbed my eyes and thought ‘Nahh, must be that caffeine going to my head’.

    • No indeed your caffeine intake isn’t playing tricks on you just yet….. So yeah I got a 32gb iPad (non 3G) last week… Quite how that came about is perhaps a mystery for another time, suffice to say I got paid for some extra work I did recently and sorta accidentntly bought one in stormfront!
Blame you tube if anything, once I saw what people could chuck out with sketchbook pro and a stylus I simply had to take a look. And yes, it’s very awesome. Cheaper then a cinteq drawing tablet too. Whilst probably not quite as clever as one of those, my efforts so far have been pleasing indeed.
Plus the web looking fucking gorgeous on it!

  3. Ahh, as a drawing tablet fair enough πŸ™‚
Yep they do look awesome I have to admit. Right now though, i’m biding my time for the iPhone 4GS or whatever the stopgap between 4 and 5 will be πŸ™‚
