I have to admit, when I initially heard about this; a squad based Resident Evil title with the emphasis solely placed on killing enemies in lieu of solving puzzles or, y’know, an actual decent story, I was less than excited about it to say the least.

The new trailer that Capcom released at the company’s Captivate event yesterday still didn’t quite convince me that it is the next big thing for the long running franchise, but at the very least, even at this early stage it’s looking like a polished and fairly enjoyable affair.

Developed by SOCOM team Slant Six, the title is due to arrive in 2012 on PS3, 360 and PC platforms.
