Konami Is Coming To The Eurogamer Expo And They’ve Got A Lot To Shout About – MGS:R, ZOE HD And Others Confirmed Playable

leave a comment »

This is going to playable at the show. I cannot fathom a SINGLE reason why you wouldn’t have, or would want to get a ticket for the show at this point. I really can’t.

With 78 days to go before Earl’s Court swings open its doors to the sweaty gamer massive for this year’s Eurogamer Expo, Konami has confirmed that they will be at the show and will be bringing a number of playable games and surprises along with them.

The organisers of the show have confirmed that Konami will have Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, PES 2013, Zone of the Enders HD Collection and Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate on 3DS all playable on the show-floor, so feel free to brag to all of your mates who don’t have a ticket.  In addition to the these games, Konami have also confirmed that in light of this year being the 25th anniversary of their stealth opus Metal Gear, they’ll have every single game in the series playable on the show floor.

Holy poo.

And you wanted surprises?  Well, the folks at the Eurogamer Expo also had this little cryptic tidbit to impart regarding the Japanese developer’s presence at the show:

“That is not all we are doing to celebrate this milestone, either, but I am not allowed to provide more hints as to what else may be occurring or I will be shot with a dart and stuffed in a locker. We’ll update you with more details once they are finalised.”

I don’t know about you lot, but I’m getting some strong whiffs of a Hideo Kojima developer session and retrospective on the Metal Gear franchise.  Too. Much. Awesome.

The addition of all of these lovely playable games at show from Konami quite handily compliments the earlier announcement of big hitters such as Assassins Creed 3, Far Cry 3, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil 6, Hitman Absolution and DmC among a great deal of others, all being playable on the showfloor.

We’re also told that we should expect to hear something on the developer sessions and that tying in with those announcements will be earlier confirmations of times so that y’know, you can plan how much time you spend playing on all these lovely games and nipping into the Pizza Express kiosk naturally.

If you haven’t done so already, you can grab some tickets here.

No tickets? No? I don’t even know you. Actually, I don’t.

The Eurogamer Expo is due to take place this year on September 27-30 at Earls Court in London.

E3 2012 – Konami Trailers Castlevania: Mirror of Fate For 3DS

with one comment

Hot off the heels of the recently released trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 on 360 and PS3, comes a trailer for an entirely new game in the series on Nintendo’s 3DS handheld.

Developed by Spanish coders MercuryStream who handled the Lords of Shadow games on the home consoles, the game looks like a hugely stylish cross of 2D and 3D action, with the gameplay taking place on a 2D plane, but with 3D models and 3D environments.

Not much gameplay is really shown in the trailer below, but nevertheless it certainly looks the part and will surely give 3DS owners something to sort out that Castlevania craving.

Castlevania: Mirror of Fate is due out exclusively on the Nintendo 3DS later this year.

Pre-E3 2012: Zone of the Enders HD Collection comes out of hiding with a new trailer – reminds the world it’s the dog’s clangers

with one comment

Konami has gone live with a trailer for the quiet-up-until-now Zone of the Enders HD Collection.

The gameplay footage, which can be seen below, is taken from Zone of The Enders 2 and has commentary on it from Hideo Kojima; waxing lyrical on the HD remastering process.

In addition to all of that loveliness, Konami have also released the new, remastered in anime style introduction for the first Zone of the Enders HD title.

Have a gander:

Zone of the Enders HD Collection is due out this Autumn on 360 & PS3 platforms and each copy comes packaged with a demo for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.

Pre-E3 2012: Metal Gear Rising Revengeance confirmed for early 2013 release; has new, totally batshit trailer with added Depeche Mode

with one comment

The announcement of Lords of shadow sequel wasn’t the only pant-wetting thing to come out of Konami’s pre-E3 unveiling this morning.  A brand new, completely off it’s cyborg tits trailer for the Platinum Games developed Metal Gear Rising Revengeance also hit the interwebs today; depicting lots of hyper-kinectic violence with people being chopped in half from behind a stone pillar and a helicopter being turned into mid-air mechanical sushi being just two examples of the supercharged wackiness on offer.

Cast your eyes over the Depeche Mode backed insanity below:

A demo of the game will be included in the forthcoming Zone of the Enders HD collection; mirroring the strategy of nearly twelve years ago when Konami stuck a demo of Metal Geat Solid 2 in with copies of the original Zone of the Enders.

Oh and ‘Revengeance’ is still a shit word.  And not really a word.

Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is due to arrive on PS3 and 360 platforms early in 2013.

Pre E3 2012: Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 is real and has a trailer

Konami have today turned rumour into stark reality with the confirmation that a sequel to 2010’s Castlevana Lords of Shadow is on the way and will arrive sometime in 2013.

While the trailer below shows no gameplay from the Mercury Steam developed product, it does set the scene with some pretty swish CG and a mysterious character at the end.

Have a look for yourself and see what you think:

Castlevania Lords of Shdaow 2 is due out on PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in 2013.
